Internships and traineeships at EBN

If you want to help play a part in the energy transition and are looking for an internship at university level, we regularly have internship openings for both Master’s and Bachelor’s students with a technical background, such as Earth Sciences or Petroleum Engineering. The internship projects differ in subject and duration (varying from 15 to 45 credits).  You will find theses and reports by our interns in the knowledge base. During your internship, you will be assigned an EBN supervisor to guide you and provide feedback. We recruit interns twice a year. In June we recruit trainees to start in September or November and in December we recruit interns to start in April.

If we invite you for an interview, together with you we will see if we can find a specific project that aligns well with your study programme. This could be a project in geothermal energy, exploration or CCS, for example. Of course we are also open to hearing your ideas. See our careers page for all current internship openings. As an intern, you will receive an internship allowance and an NS Business Card for train travel (if you do not already have a student travel product), and you will be able to join in all EBN activities. Please note that it is not possible to do an internship at EBN if you have already graduated.

Traineeship at EBN

We are also regularly looking for trainees with a range of expertise, from communication and finance to earth sciences and reservoir engineering. A traineeship at EBN lasts three years, with the option to change projects or departments after 18 months. During your traineeship, you will join other trainees in following our Young Professional Programme, which includes various courses, such as effective influencing and time management. You will be mentored to develop your knowledge and skills, and you will have the opportunity to work on projects together with other trainees. Our trainee vacancies do not have a fixed starting date and we recruit throughout the year, so be sure to keep an eye on our careers page for new openings.
