Dutch Exploration Day
The 9th edition of the Dutch Exploration Day (DXD) took place on November 21st 2024.
The strategic program provided valuable insights into the significant changes our industry is facing and how we are collectively striving to achieve the best possible outcomes. This year’s theme ‘the acceleration plan & regional programming of the Dutch North Sea’ took central stage in the keynote presentation and panel discussion. Here, the emphasis was on the need to remove blockers to North Sea production, activity and investment appetite through improved agreement and cooperation between industry, Ministry of Climate Policy and Green Growth, Energie Beheer Nederland (EBN) and for the industry to act a single operator in 8 focus regions.
The technical program comprised a variety of presentations with a focus on the geology of The Netherlands and geoscience in the exploration phase of various subsurface applications, such as hydrocarbons, incl. shallow gas, CCS, geothermal and underground hydrogen storage. This highlighted the wealth of innovation, knowledge and expertise embedded within our community of explorationists. This well-rounded program also reflected the cross-pollination and ‘Shared Earth’ knowledge transfer between hydrocarbon exploration and sustainable energy sectors that our Dutch Exploration Day aims to promote, drive forward, and accelerate. The first technical session focused on play-based exploration geology at regional scale and current progress, upcoming Jurassic and Zechstein play updates and other recent results from our GEODE ATLAS knowledge platform.
On this page you will find the presentations of our speakers.
